FAQs

Why did BÉIS renovate its original products?

Our community has helped shape BÉIS from the beginning. After eight years of real-world travel and customer feedback, we took the opportunity to refine our original collection. Every update, from lighter construction to improved straps, zippers, and security, was made with purpose. It's a renovation, not a reinvention.

Which products were renovated?

The full Core lineup got the treatment:

  • The Weekender and Mini Weekender
  • The Travel Backpack
  • The Core Rollers
  • The Dopp Kit
  • The Packing Cubes
  • The Luggage Covers
  • The Luggage Tag
  • All in Black, Maple, Beige, Atlas Pink, plus Olive.

Are these new colorways going to stay?

The palette was refreshed, not replaced. Black, Maple, Beige, Atlas Pink, and Olive all continue, with Atlas, Olive, and Beige deliberately re-toned to run warmer and less purple. If you're wondering whether a specific original tone will return, our support team can tell you what's planned for that color.

What's different about the new BÉIS Weekender?

The new BÉIS Weekender was thoughtfully redesigned based on years of customer feedback. Here's what's new:

  • Lighter design: The rigid frame and PU trim are gone, creating a lighter bag with more usable packing space.
  • Stronger straps: The shoulder straps are now sewn into the base and feature added padding and more durable materials for improved comfort and durability.
  • Upgraded zippers: New heavy-duty zippers deliver smoother performance and enhanced durability for years of travel.
  • Easier packing: A soft, wide opening with side-snap connections makes it easier to pack and access your belongings.
  • More flexible storage: The bottom compartment now unzips and rolls back, creating one large packing space when you need it.
  • Enhanced security: Delayed-theft zipper pullers and clip-together main compartment zippers help keep your belongings secure.
  • Improved comfort: A redesigned shoulder pad offers more cushioning for comfortable carrying.

What's different about the new BÉIS Mini Weekender?

The Mini Weekender received the same thoughtful redesign as the original Weekender, with updates inspired by years of customer feedback. Here's what's new:

  • Upgraded zippers: New heavy-duty zippers deliver smoother performance and enhanced durability for years of travel.
  • Enhanced security: Delayed-theft zipper pullers and clip-together zippers help keep your belongings secure.
  • Easier packing: A softer, wide opening makes packing and accessing your essentials easier.
  • Stronger straps: More durable shoulder straps with added padding provide greater comfort and long-lasting durability.
  • Improved comfort: A redesigned shoulder pad offers extra cushioning for easier carrying.

Can I still use the new Mini Weekender as a personal item?

Yes. At a confirmed 16.14" × 15.75" × 7.87", the renovated Mini Weekender is built to slide under the seat in front of you as a personal item on most major U.S. airlines. Personal-item size limits vary by airline, so check yours before you fly, and our carry-on and personal-item size guides break down the per-airline detail.

What's different about the new luggage renovations?

The redesigned luggage keeps the same durable 100% virgin polycarbonate shell, dimensions, and capacity as our current Core Rollers, while introducing thoughtful updates inspired by customer feedback. Here’s what’s new:

  • Redesigned bag hook: A new logo bag hook replaces the Attach-A-Strap for quicker, more secure on-the-go use. It can hold up to 50 lbs and also works as a stationary phone or tablet stand.
  • More flexible packing: A stretchy border around the U-zip opening creates an improved cram zone, giving you extra flexibility when packing more than planned.
  • Streamlined compression: The previous compression panel has been replaced with wider four-point compression straps and flat side-release buckles for more secure, streamlined packing.
  • Enhanced security: New gapless zipper pullers work with the TSA locks to help keep your belongings secure.
  • Dedicated AirTag storage: A hidden AirTag pocket inside the hanging pocket helps you keep track of your luggage.
  • Refined shades: Atlas Pink, Olive, and Beige have been subtly re-toned with warmer hues for an elevated finish.

The luggage still includes familiar features such as 60mm Hinomoto 360° wheels, a butterfly opening, 2 inches of expansion, a dirty-clothes and shoe pouch set, and an easy-to-clean brushed lining.

Are all of the new Rollers the same size as before?

Yes. The Core Rollers keep the same dimensions and capacity as the current Core Roller; the shell is still 100% virgin polycarbonate. The renovation went into the hardware and interior (TSA locks, 60mm Hinomoto wheels, the bag hook, and more), not the outer size, so if a roller size fit your travel before, it still does.

What updates were made to the Travel Backpack?

The Travel Backpack was thoughtfully redesigned inside and out, with updates that make it lighter, more comfortable, and easier to organize. Here's what's new:Lighter than before: The backpack now weighs just 2.56 lbs (1.16 kg) without sacrificing storage or functionality.

  • Redesigned front pocket: A larger front pocket gives you more organization and features a new locking zipper for added security. It also gives the backpack a refreshed front profile.
  • Full-zip opening: The main compartment opens flat for easier packing and access to your belongings.
  • Expandable water bottle pockets: Redesigned side pockets lay flat when not in use and expand to fit larger water bottles.
  • More comfortable carry: Ergonomically shaped backpack straps feature enhanced padding for improved comfort and support.
  • Refreshed interior: A modernized interior layout offers better organization while maintaining the travel-ready functionality you know and love.
  • Enhanced security: Dual-zip openings with delayed-theft zipper pullers help keep your belongings secure.

The redesigned Travel Backpack measures 13.39" L × 18.11" H × 7.09" D (34 × 46 × 18 cm) and offers 28L of total storage, including a spacious main compartment, an organized front pocket, and a padded laptop compartment that fits up to a 16" laptop.

Can I fit more in the new Travel Backpack?

Yes. The redesigned Travel Backpack now offers up to 28L of storage while weighing just 2.56 lbs (1.16 kg). With a full-zip opening, a larger front pocket, and expandable water bottle pockets, it's designed to help you pack more without adding unnecessary weight.

Did the Dopp Kit and Packing Cubes change too?

Yes, but the updates are thoughtful rather than a complete redesign. Since customers already loved these travel essentials, we focused on refining the materials, functionality, and organization.

Dopp Kit: Now crafted from recycled poly canvas with a TPU coating, plus a new water-resistant clear pouch and coated bottom panel for added durability and easier cleaning.

Packing Cubes: Now available in four individual sizes (S: 4.5L, M: 6.5L, L: 11L, and XL: 23L), making it easier to customize your packing system.

Each cube features a mesh top for visibility, a grab handle, and a label window, and is designed to fit seamlessly inside BÉIS luggage. You can also bundle multiple cubes together for added savings.

Are the zippers actually better this time?

Yes. Based on years of customer feedback, we upgraded the collection with new heavy-duty zippers for smoother performance and enhanced durability. Our luggage also features water-resistant zipper tape and new gapless zipper pullers for added protection and peace of mind.

How do I clean the new materials?

To keep your BÉIS products looking their best, simply spot clean with gentle soap and warm water. The updated materials are designed for durability and easy everyday care.

Does my OG roller's warranty change?

No. If you own one of our original Core Rollers, your Limited Lifetime Luggage Warranty remains the same. The redesigned collection does not change the warranty coverage for existing luggage.

What's the warranty on renovated rollers?

The renovated polycarbonate rollers are covered by our Limited Lifetime Luggage Warranty, the same coverage that applies to our listed polycarbonate luggage, including the Carry-On Roller, Small Carry-On Roller, Medium Check-In Roller, and Large Check-In Roller.

Is my OG bag being discontinued?

Some original styles and colors are being retired, while others will remain part of our collection. If you have questions about a specific bag or color, reach out to our support team for the most up to date information.

I just bought an OG bag. Can I return or exchange it for the renovated version?

If your purchase is eligible under our standard returns policy, yes—you can return your original bag and place a new order for the renovated version. If you're unsure whether your order qualifies, our support team is happy to help.

What are the new security features?

Security got a real pass across the whole line:

  • Delayed-theft zipper pullers across every bag. They slow down an opportunistic zip-open, so no one's getting into your bag with one quick tug in a crowd.
  • A lockable front pocket on the Travel Backpack.
  • TSA locks with gap-less pullers on the Rollers.
  • Clip-together main-compartment zips on the Weekender.
  • A hidden AirTag pocket in the Rollers, tucked inside the hanging pocket. It's discreet by design, so we'll just tell you where it is rather than making you hunt.

When does embroidery launch, on which products, and what does it cost?

You'll be able to add 0.5" embroidery to the Weekender, Mini Weekender, Travel Backpack, and Dopp Kit, in all colorways, with multiple fonts and thread colors (threads #1854, #1795, #1659, and #1573), placed center top or front. It launches in July 2026.

How much can I pack in the new BÉIS Weekender?

The redesigned BÉIS Weekender offers 42L of packing capacity, providing plenty of room for clothing, shoes, toiletries, and travel essentials for weekend getaways and longer trips. Thoughtful updates like the wider opening and improved interior organization make it even easier to pack and access everything you need.

What size is the new BÉIS Weekender?

The redesigned BÉIS Weekender measures 17.91" L × 15.75" H × 9.84" D (45.4 × 40 × 25 cm), weighs 3.68 lbs (1.67 kg), and has a 42L capacity. It also features a lighter-weight construction, making it easier to carry without sacrificing the organization BÉIS is known for.
