The Perfect Guide to San Diego (a BÉIS x OOO Partnership)

The Perfect Guide to San Diego (a BÉIS x OOO Partnership)

San Diego is much more than perfect beaches and sunny skies (but those are perfect too). Its laid-back lifestyle makes it the perfect family-friendly destination for all ages. From exciting theme parks to fun resorts, San Diego has something for every member of the family. The SoCal city is less-hyped than its northern neighbors, making it an ideal place to unwind and explore at your leisure with the people that you love. Here is the perfect guide to San Diego, brought to you in partnership with our friends at Out Of Office!

1. The Guild Hotel, San Diego, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Pairs Well With: THE WEEKENDER

This design-forward hotel is tucked right downtown, walkable to surrounding cafes, shops and Little Italy. The Marriott property is welcome to children and pets alike, with cribs available free of charge. We also adore the courtyard to let the littles play in style.

2. Hotel del Coronado, Curio Collection by Hilton

Pairs Well With: THE ROLLER

For a longer stay, head to this oceanfront resort. The iconic property has been completely renovated and offers one of the best beaches in the States. It also has a robust kids club, plus lots of family-friendly food and activities.

3. Cesarina

Pairs Well With: THE DIAPER BAG

Kid-friendly Italian that also appeals to adults - we love to see it. This stylish landmark restaurant has incredible housemade pastas and a tiramisu that’s finished tableside. There are also changing rooms in both the men’s and women’s restrooms, which we love.

4. Las Cuatro Milpas

Pairs Well With: THE NORTH SOUTH TOTE

San Diego’s oldest Mexican restaurant, head here for homemade tortillas and the best tacos. The family-run eatery is casual, cash only and kid-friendly. Pop in for a quick bite between exploring (or nap time).

5. Harumama Noodles + Buns (Little Italy)

Pairs Well With: THE CROSSBODY

This stylish, kid-friendly Asian restaurant has the cutest bao – decorated as animals and also delicious. Order some sweet buns for your littles to try, too. And for yourself, the ramen and seaweed salad are musts.

6. San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Pairs Well With: THE Kids BACKPACK

An 1,800-acre nature preserve where safari animals roam in their natural habitats. Your littles will get to see rhinos, giraffes, antelope, gazelles and more up close and in a unique field observatory.

7. San Diego Sand Castles

Pairs Well With: THE SPORT DUFFLE

For slightly older kids, this is a guaranteed hit. A pro guides your family through making an epic sand castle, complete with moats and tools and waves crashing in the background.

8. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve

Pairs Well With: THE Kids LUNCHBOX

A beautiful hiking area in San Diego, Torrey Pines State Reserve sits right on the SoCal coast with 1,500 acres of nature trails and untamed woodland. The Beach Trail Loop is kid- and pet-friendly, making it a great starting point.

9. Balboa Park

Pairs Well With: THE SPORT PACK

San Diego’s version of Central Park spans 1,200 acres of greenery, museums and sightseeing. We especially love the Japanese Friendship Garden, colorful stone tiles and pretty fountains throughout. Panama 66 is a good cafe rest stop inside the park.
